Jarret Hitchings of Duane Morris LLP Selected as One of ABI's 2021 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Jarret Hitchings of Duane Morris LLP (Wilmington, Del.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony to be held on Dec. 10 at ABI’s 2021 Winter Leadership Conference at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Hitchings is a partner at Duane Morris LLP, where he practices in the areas of commercial litigation and business bankruptcy. He has significant experience practicing before the Delaware courts, including the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and Delaware’s Court of Chancery and Superior Court. Hitchings is also a member of the Delaware State Bar Association and INSOL International, and a member of Class X of the International Insolvency Institute’s NextGen Leadership Program. He also has been a panelist in multiple legal education programs, including speaking for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges in 2018 in a program entitled, “Beyond the Surface of Venue: Real World Bankruptcy Practice in 2018.” In addition to his bankruptcy and litigation work, he maintains a robust pro bono practice, regularly representing veterans in connection with disability appeals and low-income individuals in connection with adult guardianship matters. Hitchings also was included in the 2021 Delaware Super Lawyers list of Rising Stars. He received his J.D. magna cum laude in 2010 from Villanova University School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif, and his B.A. in International Relations and Affairs in 2007 from Pennsylvania State University.

“The 2021 honorees are a testament to the future of the insolvency profession, with exemplary accomplishments in both their careers and communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “We look forward to this diverse collection of young leaders propelling ABI's full range of activities forward to advance the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
