Eunice Hudson of Freddie Mac Selected as One of ABI's 2020 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Eunice Hudson of Freddie Mac (McLean, Va.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. Honorees will be recognized at a special virtual ceremony on February 18, 2021.

Hudson is an Assistant General Counsel with Freddie Mac, where she represents, and appears on behalf of, Freddie Mac in seller-servicer and other complex bankruptcy proceedings. She advises Freddie Mac’s single family, multifamily and capital markets groups on legal risks relating to bankruptcies, insolvencies, securitizations, receiverships and other financial concerns. She also oversees litigation involving Freddie Mac, its operations and its investment portfolios, and provides legal advice in cases of fraud against Freddie Mac. Hudson previously was a trial attorney for the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, where she handled all oil and gas bankruptcy cases where decommissioning (i.e., plugging and abandonment) obligations and/or monetary obligations owing to the U.S. exceeded $10 million and in some cases several billion dollars, or cases in which the Department of the Interior had a substantial policy interest. The Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division named Hudson the “Rookie of the Year” at the Civil Division Awards Ceremony in December 2017. She received her J.D. from Emory University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in international relations from The Johns Hopkins University.

“Accomplished in both their careers and communities, the 2020 class of honorees is an inspiration for the future of the insolvency community,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “We look forward to collaborating with this diverse collection of young leaders in the full range of ABI's activities to advance the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
