Amir Gamliel of Perkins Coie LLP Selected as One of ABI's 2023 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Amir Gamliel of Perkins Coie LLP (Los Angeles) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s award program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony on Dec. 1 at ABI’s 2023 Winter Leadership Conference at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Gamliel is a Bankruptcy and Restructuring partner with Perkins Coie LLP and represents clients in business reorganizations, out-of-court restructuring work, and litigation involving complex financial transactions. He is experienced in such industry sectors as finance, including commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), technology, aerospace, real estate and retail. In his national bankruptcy practice, he counsels secured creditors, including through the largest CMBS special servicers in the country, as well as unsecured creditors, ranging from licensors of intellectual property (IP) to major landlords, property lessors and committees of unsecured creditors. Super Lawyers has named Gamliel a Southern California “Rising Star” every year since 2017, and he was named an “Up and Coming 100: Southern California Rising Star” for 2022-23. Chambers USA also recognized him as an “Up and Coming” California Bankruptcy/Restructuring Lawyer in 2023. Within his firm, he serves on the firmwide Associate and Counsel Evaluation Committee. He also continues to serve as a longtime member of the Los Angeles office’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Hiring Committee and Summer Associate Committee, and he frequently interviews and mentors associate candidates at law schools across Southern California. In addition, he regularly takes on mentees through UCLA School of Law and continues to maintain relationships with assigned mentees and fellow mentors. Outside of the office, he has served on the New Leadership Council of Bet Tzedek and provided pro bono legal services for its Holocaust Reparations Project, and he has volunteered for The Jewish Federation’s Community Service Day.

“The members of the 2023 class are an inspiration for the commitment, creativity and ingenuity that they demonstrate in both their careers and communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “This diverse collection of honorees is comprised of future leaders that will drive ABI and the insolvency community forward.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Now in its seventh year, the goal of ABI’s “40 under 40” award program is not simply to create a one-time ceremony, but to fully engage those selected as future leaders in the insolvency profession and to build on the initiative each year.
