Amber Carson of Gray Reed Elected to ABI's Board of Directors
ABI announces that Amber Carson of Gray Reed (Dallas) has been elected to ABI’s Board of Directors. An ABI member since 2016, Carson is the Education Director for both ABI’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Young & New Members Committees, is also a member of ABI’s Business Reorganization and Emerging Industries & Technology Committees, was named to ABI’s “40 Under 40” 2022 class of honorees, and has spoken and written about key bankruptcy issues.
Carson is a partner in Gray Reed’s Dallas office, where her practice focuses on complex restructurings, involuntary bankruptcy proceedings, asset acquisitions, liquidations, and litigation in the bankruptcy and insolvency arena. She serves as secretary on the Executive Council of the Bankruptcy Law Section (BLS) of the State Bar of Texas, leads the Pipeline Programs Subcommittee of the BLS’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and serves as membership co-chair for the DFW Network of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation. In addition, she is the former chair of the Young Lawyers Committee for the BLS and former president of the DFW Association of Young Bankruptcy Lawyers. Carson is one of the American Bar Association’s 2023 “On the Rise-Top 40 Young Lawyers,” and she is the 2023 inaugural recipient of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award presented by the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. She also was awarded the 2021 Romina Mulloy-Bossio Achievement Award by the State Bar of Texas’s Bankruptcy Law Section. Carson has been recognized as a “Best Lawyer Under 40” by D Magazine, a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers and a “One to Watch” by The Best Lawyers in America. She received her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2012 and her B.B.A. cum laude in marketing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2009.
