Jerry M. Markowitz Named ABI Vice President-Membership

Alexandria, Va. — The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) announces that Jerry M. Markowitz of Markowitz, Ringel, Trusty + Hartog, P.A. (Miami) has been named to a two-year term as ABI’s Vice President-Membership. An ABI member since 1991, Markowitz has co-chaired both the ABI Endowment Fund and ABI’s Southeast Bankruptcy Workshop.

Markowitz is a founding shareholder of Markowitz Ringel Trusty + Hartog Attorneys at Law in Miami, where he focuses on creditors’ and debtors’ rights, including workouts, bankruptcy, asset recovery, insolvency, receiverships, reorganizations, restructuring and mediation. Markowitz is listed as one of the “Top 250 Attorneys” in South Florida by the South Florida Legal Guide and as one of the Best of the Bar by the South Florida Business Journal. He has also been listed in Florida Super Lawyers from 2012-14, The Best Lawyers in America since 1999 and in Chambers USA from 2009-13. Markowitz received his J.D. in 1974 from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.S. in business administration in 1970 from the University of Florida.
