Diana Santos Johnson of Waldrep Wall Babcock & Bailey PLLC Selected as One of ABI's 2021 "40 Under 40"

Alexandria, Va. ABI announces that Diana Santos Johnson of Waldrep Wall Babcock & Bailey PLLC (Winston Salem, N.C.) has been selected as one of ABI’s “40 Under 40,” ABI’s annual program that recognizes 40 of the top insolvency industry professionals under the age of 40. The honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony to be held on Dec. 10 at ABI’s 2021 Winter Leadership Conference at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Johnson is an associate at Waldrep Wall Babcock & Bailey PLLC in Winston-Salem, N.C., where she practices business bankruptcy. Prior to joining Waldrep Wall, she was a staff attorney at Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc., a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income individuals, and an associate at Bolton Law Group, PA, a regional bankruptcy law firm. While working at Legal Aid and Bolton Law, she helped hundreds of individuals and businesses file chapter 7, 11, 12 13 bankruptcies. Johnson was recognized by NC Lawyers Weekly as a Leader in the Law in 2017 and was also a member of the NC Pro Bono Honor Society in 2017 and 2018. She currently serves on the corporate board of directors for Smart Start of Forsyth County, on the Foundation and Supervisory Committees of Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, and on the City of Winston-Salem Zoning Board of Adjustment. Johnson earned her J.D. in 2009 from North Carolina Central University School of Law and her B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature in 2005 from Wake Forest University.

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
