Crane is actively involved in and holds various leadership positions with leading international insolvency organizations, including the American Bankruptcy Institute on its International Committee, INSOL on its Small Practice Group Committee, the Turnaround Management Association on its NextGen Committee and the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association (Cayman) on its Membership & Communication Committee. He was recognized by Benchmark Litigation (Latin America) as a Litigation Star in 2021 and 2020 and as a Future Star in 2019, and by Benchmark Litigation (Canada) as a Future Star in 2018, and he was named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hot List (Canada and United States) in 2017 and 2018. Crane received his J.D. with a specialization in business law in 2010 from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and is a 2015 graduate of the Osgoode Hall Law School Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop.

“The 2021 honorees are a testament to the future of the insolvency profession, with exemplary accomplishments in both their careers and communities,” said ABI Executive Director Amy Quackenboss. “We look forward to this diverse collection of young leaders propelling ABI's full range of activities forward to advance the profession.”

The “40 Under 40” winners are distinguished by professional achievements and service and were selected by a group of experienced professionals from ABI’s current leadership. Nominations were submitted earlier this year by the candidates themselves or by colleagues via the initiative’s website, http://abi40under40.org. More than 200 candidates, each with outstanding records of professional achievement and community leadership, were evaluated by 20 judges. The majority of the applicants were partners, directors or managing directors at their firms.
